Chapter 6. Ban on the use of leisure craft without effective exhaust system muffling
Regulations relating to pollution control (Pollution Regulations). This is an unofficial translation of the Norwegian regulation.
Laid down pursuant to section 4 of Act no. 79 of
The use of leisure craft without effective muffling of the exhaust system within the sea boundary is prohibited.
Effective muffling is defined as the muffling of sound that is achieved through the use of a dimensioned silencer or through the down-lead of exhaust to water.
The ban does not apply to leisure craft with slow-moving inboard engines below 100 HP.
