Chapter 42. Entry into force
Regulations relating to pollution control (Pollution Regulations). This is an unofficial translation of the Norwegian regulation.
§ 42-1. Entry into force
These regulations shall enter into force on 1 July 2004, unless otherwise indicated by specific provisions in each chapter. The following shall be repealed on the same date:
- Regulations no. 1 of 15 November 1977 relating to attempts with oil trials,
- Regulations no. 1219 of 5 August 1982 relating to the storage of oil and other hazardous substances on ships,
- Regulations no. 1327 of 11 July 1983 relating to the duty to provide notification in accordance with the Pollution Control Act,
- Regulations no. 1566 of 1 October 1983 relating to the discharge of wastewater containing oil and the use and labelling of detergents and degreasing agents,
- Regulations no. 1424 of 1 July 1985 relating to the discharge of rinse water and black liquor from straw leaching installations,
- Regulations no. 249 of 3 April 1989 relating to installations and the operation and maintenance of levelled fields,
- Regulations no 545 of 7 July 1989 relating to the prohibition on the use of leisure craft without effective noise reduction of the exhaust system,
- Regulations no. 584 of 24 July 1992 relating to handling of photochemicals from businesses in the photographic, X-ray or graphic industries,
- Regulations no. 902 of 23 September 1994 relating to wastewater and waste containing amalgam from dental clinics and dentists' offices,
- Regulations no. 70 of 10 January 1995 relating to municipal fees for water and sewage,
- Regulations no. 961 of 28 July 1995 relating to the implementation of the directives in Annex XX of the EEA agreement relating to the discharge of hazardous substances to water,

- Regulations no. 127 of 31 January 1996 relating to the collection of fees payable to the state for the processing of permits and carrying out of inspection work by the Climate and Pollution Agency under the terms of the Pollution Control Act,

- Regulations no. 1442 of 4 December 1997 related to the regulation of dredging and dumping at sea and in waterways,
- Regulations no. 1443 of 4 December 1997 relating to the prohibition on incineration at sea,
- Regulations no. 663 of 12 June 1998 relating to the prohibition on the discharge of sewage, etc,. from ships in waterways and coastal areas,
- Regulations no. 508 of 25 March 1999 relating to pollution from asphalt plants,
- Regulations no. 352 of 12 April 2000 relating to the discharge from small asphalt plants,
- Regulations no. 1139 of 1 October 2001 relating to the limitation of emissions of volatile organic compounds (VOC) caused by the use of organic solvents,
- Regulations no. 1206 of 8 October 2001 related to the sulphur content of certain oil products,
- Regulations no. 1207 of 10 October 2001 relating to the composition and use of dispersion media and beach cleaning agents to fight oil pollution,
- Regulations no. 362 of 16 April 2002 relating to the processing of permits in accordance with the Pollution Control Act,
- Regulations no. 1088 of 4 October 2002 relating to local air quality,
- Regulations no. 1089 of 4 October 2002 relating to limit values for noise,
- Regulations no. 1669 of 28 November 2002 relating to the regulation of pollution from the washing and impregnation of nets in aquaculture,
- Regulations no. 1727 of 20 December 2002 relating to emissions from crematoriums,
- Regulations no. 413 of 21 March 2003 relating to the voluntary participation of organizations in an eco-management and audit scheme (EMAS),
