16.01.12 24. og 25. januar 2012 kan du møte forfatterne bak den siste rapporten fra FNs klimapanel i Oslo. 24. januar deltar både Rajendra Pachauri, som leder FNs klimapanel, miljø- og utviklingsminister Erik Solheim og statssekretær Ingrid Fiskaa.

On Day 2 we invite you to choose between and participate in two parallel sessions on how to use the key findings and conclusions in the report and translate them into action – in Norway and in the most vulnerable countries.

Session A: Managing the risks linked to extreme events and disasters in Norway
Working language: Norwegian
Direktoratet for samfunnssikkerhet og beredskap (DSB) inviterer til parallellsesjonen med fokus på Norge. Her vil deltakerne gå nærmere inn på hva som er naturfare og ekstremvær i Norge – med konkrete eksempler fra arbeidet med vind, vann, skred og et endret flommønster.

DSB vil presentere hvilke råd staten gir til kommunene – og ønsker innspill om hvordan vi kan oppnå at kommuner, fylker og staten spiller på lag i arbeidet med klimatilpasning.
Session B: Disaster risk reduction (DRR) in development cooperation
Working language: English
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs invites to the parallel session with a focus on challenges and opportunities for development cooperation in a changing climate, and how to improve efforts on disaster risk management and climate change adaptation in vulnerable countries. This session will focus on different sectors/topics (health, food security, displacement), levels (local, national, regional) as well as groups to be included in disaster management processes (civil society, children and youth, women).

We expect participants to engage in the debates and to contribute with their experience and perspectives. The aim is to come up with ways to strengthen international efforts on DRR, on the basis of the solid, thorough and practical IPCC Special Report.

The conference is a cooperation between the Climate and Pollution Agency (Klif), the Ministry of Environment, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Directorate for Civil Protection and Emergency Planning (DSB) and the University of Oslo.
