PPCoN, Amoco, BP and Statoil commissioned Akvaplan-niva AS (Contract Agreement no. 2-0583) to carry out a regional environmental survey of the physical, chemical and biological conditions of the benthic sediment in Region I in the North Sea. The fields included in the survey were Ekofisk Centre, Ekofisk 2/4 B&K, Eldfisk 2/7 A/FTP, Eldfisk 2/7 B, Embla, Tor, Valhall, Hod, Ula, Gyda, Well 2/7-29, Tommeliten, Yme Beta and Yme Gamma. The field work was carried out between 14.05 and 25.05 1996, during which samples from a total of 140 stations were collected.
